LS2 Billet Aluminum Emblem:
Since "XSELER8" brought the subject up about the LS2 billet aluminum emblem that shows up in one of my earlier posts to this thread, I thought I would post another closer up photo.
This emblem is made from billet aluminum and is quite thick and subsequently very rigid. There in lied the problem for me. I originally bought this emblem with the thought that I would mount it on the rear tailgate, lower left-hand corner opposite of the SSR logo. Because this emblem is so rigid, and won't flex to meet the slight curvature in the tailgate, I was afraid of it "dimpling" the relatively thin sheet metal of the tailgate in pressing it to attach it well....or that it would not stay attached at the ends.
I then thought about mounting this emblem on the engine cover and I felt I was up against the same problems. Too rigid to get it to lay flat against the curvature of the engine cover.
Thus, I mounted it on one of the few places on the SSR that has a nice flat surface.....man, has this vehicle got curves, seemingly everywhere! If any of you have this emblem and have mounted it elsewhere, please post a photo.
BTW, I got my LS2 billet emblem from Corvette America. Don't buy it there, because I overpaid for mine compared to what other fanatics have gotten their's for.
