Because this emblem is so rigid, and won't flex to meet the slight curvature in the tailgate, I was afraid of it "dimpling" the relatively thin sheet metal of the tailgate in pressing it to attach it well....or that it would not stay attached at the ends.
I then thought about mounting this emblem on the engine cover and I felt I was up against the same problems. Too rigid to get it to lay flat against the curvature of the engine cover.
Thus, I mounted it on one of the few places on the SSR that has a nice flat surface.....man, has this vehicle got curves, seemingly everywhere! If any of you have this emblem and have mounted it elsewhere, please post a photo.
BTW, I got my LS2 billet emblem from Corvette America. Don't buy it there, because I overpaid for mine compared to what other fanatics have gotten their's for.

I bought this emblem for the tailgate also..glad you mentioned the "curvature". Now I understand why you mounted it in the engine bay(and it looks good there). For what this little piece of crap cost with shipping(from Mid America) I'm mounting it on my farhead.
THE BOLTCAPS? Do they insert on top on the nuts.(press on)? Thanks again..your SSR is lookin good.
