Everyone:
I thought I would expand a bit on fanatic "lloger's" post #148 in this thread on using the SSR valve stem caps for door lock knobs. Here's what I did. I bought a set of "Tuner" door lock knobs from Auto Zone made by Pilot Automotive (
www.pilotautomotive.com), part #PM-381C. These are particularly interesting in that the tops of them are actually their same valve stem caps that they also sell, screwed on to the top on the door lock posts. I merely had to unscrew the existing caps and replace them with the "SSR" brass valve stem caps. These "Marque" valve stem caps are made by Camisasca Automotive, part # 7-VT12-6087. The finished and installed door locks stick up a bit, but not objectionably to me at least. Besides, I liked the idea that the caps just screwed on the posts for simplicity.
As mentioned before, these door locks now compliment the "SSR" valve stem caps very nicely!
The following photos show the Pilot Automotive door locks and packging, as well as the SSR valve stem caps and packaging, with them screwed on the posts.
