Is there kind of a lag when the shift should be occuring and then an abrubt clunk as it goes into gear? We call this a "slide bump shift" and it is correctable with a modified Corvette servo. The carbon/kevlar type band used in the late 4L60E has a tendency to slip on light application even though it is a far more durable lining than the old red paper linings were.We sell the modified Corvette servo for $24 plus shipping and they are pretty simple to install from the outside of the trans. The shift you are feeling may seem a little funky but it is not hurting the trans beyond minor wearing or glazing the band prematurely and if you aren't an aggresive driver will not be of any consequence.
