I saw those vents on an SSR posted here and on eBay a while ago...a lot of people didn't care for them, maybe just 'cause they do look exactly like the Buick, but I think they look good, I would rather have those than louvers...if they are, in fact, effective for removing heat (on the side of the hood).
My original idea was for a BMW M-Style vent (see pic), but, in retrospect, that might harm the smooth lines of the truck, even if you could make them narrow enough to fit in that tiny sidewall of the hood. Maybe I just like the extra chrome.
