It is best to prefit the covers before any paint! The wiring will need to be moved around and you will be putting them on and taking them off several times which will likely leave some scratches. Once they are finished at Paint then you can cover the Coil Covers in saran wrap so they wont get scratched when doing the final installation.
The Passenger Side
The passenger side is the easiest to prep for the covers. Tuck all wiring down and install the 2 Delrin Plastic Stands with the Velcro on them to the 2 screw posts off the coil brackets as shown below. Ensure that the delrin stands are screwed all the way down on the posts so no threads are showing:
The next step is to install the Cover Brackets on the outer 2 fuel rail retaining screws as pictured below:
Move the 2 Heater hoses on top of the Transmission Dipstick for Automatic SSR's:
Install the cover on the passengers side. The hose at the base of the coolant reservoir will go above the cover as shown:
The cover will then clip onto the brackets as shown. Once you are sure they are perfect then pull the cover back off and peel the backing off the velcro that is attached to the delrin stands. Be careful when installing the cover again to make sure that the cover does not come in contact with the sticky side of the velcro until the cover is positioned perfectly:
