Thanks to Gerry and Lloyd:
Springfield Super Rally! That says it all. I first met Gerry & LLoyd in Springfield when they were there on one of their scouting trips and had dinner with them at a barbeque place at the corner of Glenstone & Kearney ( across the street and south of the Osais. After visiting with them for a while I had the feeling we would a great time at the Rally. My expectations were greatly exceeded! Everything was just Super! Even the rain and weather did not stop anything for long. My wife (Dee) and I had a great time. All of the events were great, the road tours (roller coaster and triple C) were both good. The dinner at Lamberts and drag strip were great (wanted to run but Dee was afraid I would break something). Fantastic Caverns was verry good. Getting to meet many of the Fanatics that I have have some dealings was a highlight. Watching the the master at work (Mike in AZ) was great! I even picked up a few tips while watching, being in the way, handing tools, holding pressure on the hood while he drilled holes for struts, etc. I felt like a first year Med student handing a senior surgeon his scalpel! On our way back to Parkville, we went up 65 to Preston, then east on 54 to Ha Ha Tonka State Park and Castle ruins. This is about 80 miles from Springfield and would make an excellent run destination for the next Super Rally. I can't say enough about the planning and work by Gerry & LLoyd and all the other fanatics. Just got home from a cruise night in Overland Park and met two slingshot owners who were not aware of the forum. Gave them the info and I think they will be joining. A redline came thru and talked to Dee, said they had a dealership and no interest in the forum. Guess you can't win them all. I have rambled on too much, once agin many kudos to all. I took a lot of pictures, as soon as my more computer literate kids can help me down load to the computer, I will try to post some.
