I met Bob
Sorry I haven't been here because school just started. But here's the story. Last year when went to the show and Jim was looking around in a building that had no SSR's so I was not so interested. I stood by the door waiting and began talking to an older gentleman who appeared to be the guard for the building. He began to tell me all about his family. Just a nice old retired employee I thought. We moved on to other buildings.At some point we got a free calendar which had lots of the McDorman collection in it. I was looking through it when I got home and discovered the nice older gentleman I had been talking to was Bob Mc Dorman himself. Wow was I shocked.
Next year we are going to try to set up a meet for our SSR friends to go to the show. So keep it in mind. For those who don't know. He owns SSR #2,#3,#4 and the last one sold. All were bought at auctions for around $120,000 to $140,000. I believe much of the money went to charities.
