I had left a window open to take advantage of the cool, fresh mountain air, and a local raccoon took advantage of the open window to partake in my wife's stash of Milano cookies. He wasn't too happy to leave the cookies either - he at least retreated to the window (while my wife made a hasty retreat to the safety of the other side of the room door.) I shooed him away and lowered the window, then let my wife know it was safe to reenter the room (after I checked under the bed for more visitors.) So much for the cookies - but no harm done otherwise. I reminded Lori at least it wasn't a bear.
The raccoon peered longingly into the room through the now-closed window, but he scampered away before I could take his picture. The windows are double-sash, and I now know why the Hotel staff lowered the top sash rather than raised the bottom sash. All the same, I think the windows will be left closed when the room is unattended or when we're sleeping.

Love the night pic of the Stanley. I would love to stay there once.
Well you may not have had a ghost in your room but you do have a story to tell!!!!
