Smile Interest for a Twig run only

OK,

I'm kinda of tired from driving these last two weekends, the Chocolate/Covered bridges run and going to Salisbury this past weekend, and maybe others are too.

I've posted a thread about going on a "Leaf" or "Twig" run to the Shenandoa mountions like we did last year and there doesn't seem like there's much interest for this weekend. So maybe we should postpone the run for this weekend. Last year we went late so the "leaf" viewing run turned into a "Twig" run instead. Everyone didn't really seem to mind so maybe a "Twig" run only would have more interest.

From what I can tell the "leaf" viewing this year is not going to be that great anyway since we've been in a drought all this summer and now also going into the fall. I understand that the leaves are not going to be that colorful because of that, so if we wait and do a "twig" run later it just might be better and have more interest.

Plus, we need more planning on what route and where do we want to go eat.

While I wanted to expand the run to the Blue Ridge PWY, in talking with BIG JIM, that may be too much to do in a day, so I think we should probably just drive close to the same route as last year. Howvever, there are other less scenic parallel roads we could take to save the $15 per car cost and use that money for a different place for lunch. Last years place was just fine but I would skip the Lurray Carvans.

We've got a holiday weekend coming up for Veterans day Nov 12 on that Monday.

Therefore, we could plan for a Sunday drive on November 11 and still have a day to recover and not rush back to work on a Monday. (I might be available Nov 10, but I'm not positive)

Does that sound better to do?

Any interest for a "Twig" run later?

I'm really only available for Sundays after this weekend but, if people want to do things on other earlier Saturdays, go ahead and don't let me stop the group from proceding on a Saturday.

BTW, my handle is really just my last name and first name initial, like I've used in most of my past email addresses. I've got to change that but I haven't come up yet with something.
