I would do the tune first, its quick and cheap. you may also want to consider a full custom computer tune that will more effectively improve peformance, but is a little more and done by a shop. The cost of the gear change varies depending on the gears you buy, raning from $300 to $700, then count on about 4 -5 hours for labor.
Since you are new, the easiest way to get information is to use the "search" button inthe toolbar and type in the topic or keywords and it will find all of the discussions that have taken place on the topic. Tons of good information here. good luck!
