It MIGHT be this (JUST a theory):
The SSR is programmed to include a speed limiter at around 125 to 130 mph, since the factory tires are only rated to that speed. The system PROBABLY uses the same method to stop you from going faster as it uses to activate the traction control when it detects tire spin.
IF this is so (remember, it's only a thoery), then 4.56 gearing would activate it much sooner, at about 373/456 x 127 mph = 104 mph plus or minus a bit.
Just a theory.
