What a relief to get home, and thanks goes out to the angel we met last night. As you know the weather was sunny where ever we ventured, except for the trip home. We saw it all!!

From Laughlin we made it as far as Cloverdale (n. of Frisco). Monday it was mainly sunny with showers off and on and snow by the side of the road here and there. Only one car in the ditch, on it's side. By sundown we reached Florence OR and decided to keep driving and possibly go thru the night and get home. The road to Eugene was fine and when we hit the I-5 to head north it was O.K. so we kept going. Once we hit WA we pulled into a Chevron for gas and that's when our plans changed. The young attend in the store knew all about SSR's and loved them dearly. When Wayne mentioned that we were going to pull and all-nighter he said there's no way we should go any farther and that the weather was terrible and we would hit snow storms if we went any further north. That was at 10:00pm. So we pulled into the next motel and called it a night. Oh yeah, he was super happy when we gave him his own SSR, scale model that is
Well, our angel was right on the money. When we left this morning we saw the aftermath of the storm. Lot's of snow, although by time we hit the road it was just wet. The scariest moment was just north of Everett. A snow squall and a big hill, slowed all the traffic to a crawl. We were content to snail along with the traffic we caught up to. But the Lincoln behind us thought it was a good idea to pull into the passing lane, the slippery snow filled spin you around passing lane.

We saw him in our mirror, side-ways on the freeway. I almost cried at the sight. The headlights of the cars behind him couldn't be seen anymore. All three lanes were blocked by his car as he tried to straighten out, fish-tailing, and I'm sure, praying. Soon the headlights appeared again, what a relief.
We reached the border at 1:00pm and soon after pulled into our snowy driveway. It never looked so good

The dog was happy, the cat was happy, and we're still happily married after 31 days on the road

Thanks to that GPS!!
