Doophus, you are correct about the dual tips and the 5" tips. As far as the original tips on the SSR that's the size GM wanted to go with so we built them to their specs. But now there is a choice.
Doophus, as you know there are many talented and brave people on this site. Where there's a will there's a way. A little cutting and sanding and presto they fit. Remember measure twice cut once.
Or maybe someone can create a new lower valance.
It looks like ASC made one at one time or another.
