I don't know about this John but I do know what I know
The most common reason someone has problems uploading images from their computer is the image size is too large. I shoot in the largest format possible on any digital but re-size everything I want to post to the web. Some photo software has a category just for this purpose but simple resizing works just fine. Just make sure the jpeg file is no larger than 1500 on any one side for this site.
I personally do not use an internet photo hosting site so can't help anyone there.
