A Big Southern California Welcome, also from the ocean side of the mountains. I grew up in Iowa (way up in the Northeast corner, Monona) so maybe that qualifies me to chime in.

Have lived in Cedar Rapids also. Worked at the Wilson Packing plant there.
Have been in So Cal since 1964, however.
