It was to take them out on a private track event and have a little fun. The conditions were supposed to be good, but got real bad while we were there. There was a 30+ MPH head wind and the DA's went through the roof at over 3200 ft by 1 pm. The SSR was doing good even with the conditions we were playing in 12 seconds flat on one of the final runs. We are ready to up the boost on the SSR to 15 psi next month, he is still at just 10 psi right now. We built the engine for over 20 psi of boost so stay tuned as we shake it out a little more. It will be running 10's this fall so stay tuned. The Corvettes he was racing all day were all real nice with blowers and nitrous.
This was the first time on the strip for the TBSS. The TrailBlazer SS would not shift at full throttle. I had to go half throttle out of the hole through first gear to get it to shift to second. Then it wouldn't shift to third until I completely backed off the throttle and waited a second. It ran a 12.3 with the transmission problems. I really wanted a low 11 or 10 second time slip but that is hard to get when you cant even go full throttle.
Watch for this fall when we have these 2 vehicles ready for some full throttle runs on big boost. This event was short fused and we only had a week and a half to prepare for it. I put our names on a back up list and spots opened the last minute.
