I Drilled Oil Wells in that wonderfull little town back in the 1960's. I loved that freezing Fog that left behind Ice cycles that would break off when the Rig shook from hard rock drilling.
Back then there was no I-5 Freeway, just Dirt mixed with Oil for roads. One thing that was sort of positive, I purchased my first pair of Japanese shoes for $1.00 and they fell apart the first time I wore them. They looked like Patent Leather, but later I found out they were made of patent paper. Oh well I was making big bucks back then a whole $3.40 an hour. The Kettlemans City Hotel was popular back then. Well it probably is still popular to this day, and the only hotel in town.
