Remove the muffler by unbolting the one front flange and the two rear flanges.
Make up a straight pipe assembly with flanges using the muffler assembly as a template.
Run the straight pipes until the Winter.
Replace the straight pipes over the Winter with the muffler.
Get my SSR inspected in March with the muffler on.
Switch back to the straight pipes after the inspection.
If I change my mind about the straight pipes just have the section modified to install a small muffler or two.
I'll post pictures and cost when I have it done. (Next week I hope.)

I may face the same complication here in Calif. if they look under the R during emmissions testing and don't see a muffler. That seems like a fail safe idea to flange up the stock muffler and flange the straight pipe section to be able to interchange them for whatever reason you choose. I am planning to do the same type of install so would really like to see your install pics. Thanks, Richard.
