Put the key in the slot.
Pull the knob away from the hitch and rotate clockwise keeping fingers away from the little black lever. It will stay.
Push the post up into the receiver and the lever will release the knob andlock the hitch in place.
To remove;
Put key in lock.
Pull knob and rotate clockwise.
Hitch will drop out. Watch your toes.
