Had the SSR out last night in Penticton. Civic holiday weekend, thousands of people around, cruised the beach, and stopped at a sidewalk restaurant to listen to some friends who spend a couple of months a year in the area entertaining tourists, then Puerto Vallarta the rest of the time.
Everything looked good when we stopped, but after a pleasant 2 hour meal, got back in the SSR, and as soon as we started rolling, the right rear display is blinking, alarm is on, and I'm reading 25 psi on that corner. Stopped at a gas station, pumped it back up to 32 psi, drove around a bit, and headed for home. I was down to 29 psi by the time I got it home, and when I checked it this morning, that corner was totally dead.
I probably wouldn't have noticed a low tire at 25 psi, especially in the dark , but with another hour of driving, pressure dropping gradually, then hitting the highway - I think I just saved a tire, and possibly a wheel.
The only downside, it's a holiday weekend, so no tire repair until Tuesday morning, and no SSR top down in absolutely gorgeous weather.
