From the GM VIS:

1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) center trim panel
2. Remove 4 screws that retain the cluster bezel to the I/P.
3. Partially remove the cluster bezel to gain access to the electrical connections.
4. Disconnect the electrical connections.

And for the Center trim panel:

Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
Remove the left and right instrument panel (I/P) trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side and Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
Remove the inflatable restraint instrument panel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
Move the steering wheel to the full down position.

Remove the 5 fasteners from the center trim panel.

Release the retaining clips from the center trim panel.

Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC) seal from the IPC.
