3/8" sounds great. I'll bet Chevy would call that perfect (or at least "within specs"). I haven't measured my SSR, but I know I can get that kind of variance on my other trucks just by parking on a different section of driveway or turning the wheel a little.

When I was lowering my Silverado, I measured 4 or 5 new trucks at the dealership for reference (one was in the showroom). Measuring the frame at the back bumper, I didn't find any that were within 3/4".

Between spring "break-in", shocks, body mounts, fuel tank placement, temperature variables and all the other things that can change ride height, I'd say you're right in line!
