I had posted and asked about this problem on my 06 silver. I too used a heat gun slowly circling the area and the fogging disappeared. Turns out it was indeed moisture under the clear coat. Just make sure that you don't over do the heat (I am sure you knew that already, but a heat gun gets much hotter than a hair drier.) Turns out to be a problem with sitting water or car covers that are left on with moisture trapped underneath. It has never reappeared. Good Luck with it.
