Thanks David for checking things out. When we originally spoke about your trip here I was supposed to join you on the search. Some serious family matters came up and due to that I was unavailable. Things are settling down a bit now but it looks like a few more battles before the war is over.

When I first started this I asked for some suggestions on hotels. Got a few ideas and checked them out. Also looked at several other choices. Quality, pricing, parking and some other factors were considered. At the March get together I spoke with several of you and pretty much everyone except David was OK with the Hilton Gardens. So I went with that as a primary choice. I knew I would not please everyone.

David got in touch with me with his concerns and I had no problem with him checking other places out. If what he finds works out we can use it as the primary hotel next year. I am expecting 50+ SSRs to be coming into town. I reserved 30 rooms at the Hilton. A second place might be an advantage.

Checking on pricing at some of the hotels I did notice a drop in room rates. This may have made for better pricing on the beach. I do plan on getting back in touch with the Hilton to see about some other perks before you guys get here. Where you stay is up to you. Just be happy and have a good time.

My bad, my Fanatic Friends.
This evening is the first I have been on the SSR site since Kim and I were in Daytona. I have called a couple of you and let you know sorta whats happening. However, I have been in contact with the final 2 places, one of which will be where Kim and I will be staying during the Daytona Dream Cruise. They have been busy with the Daytona Race and requested a little time from me. I am treating them as a car dealer and I'm looking for a real deal.

I should have the final deal tomorrow after I talk with the General Manager's one more time...

I hope those of you who want to stay on the beach instead of the Hilton at the racetrack, will be Happy Fantics...
Thanks. Keep me in the loop.

To set the record straight...

I am not trying to take over the Daytona Dream Cruise. I live on the Georgia Alabama line. 500+ miles away!
I have no problem with this. Anyone that wants to help out is more than welcome. Just let me know whats going on so we don't get a clusterf**k of things happening. I have other things I am working on too.

I agree 100%. I have heard of some people planning things and not keeping me in the loop. No matter what event is being planned the courtious thing to do would be let the coordinator know what you are doing. If lets say you wanted to plan a tech session just keep people informed.
