My SSR:
05 6 sp. with 4.56 gears, ZR1 clutch, Edelbrock intake, Lunati cam, Crane rockers, C6 modified pan

Mine looked the same and did take significant effort to depress. Once the tool is inserted the rest of the job goes easily. Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but there are 2 cables that need to be pulled also. They are behind each seat.
