Be prepared

This system with the chambered mufflers is very loud.
The cabin noise is so bad on excelleration (even slightly) between 1,700 and 2,200 RPM you can not hear the radio.
Don't get me wrong about this. I love the sound and I can always turn the radio up.

When I planned the installation of the "Y" pipe and the chambered mufflers I wanted the stock muffler to tail pipes flanged.
I wanted to be able to remove the chambered mufflers and "Y" pipe and replace them with the stock muffler if I found it to loud.
I also wanted the ability to make up another muffler system that would bolt in.
The muffler shop knew what I wanted to do prior to doing the work.
They welded it all in because they did not have the front flange that mated up to the factory head pipe.
I regret letting them do it now.
