Smile Noise in HVAC

I have a 2005 SSR and have read the posts on "Noise in HVAC", some people replied with leaves in blower. I believe this is probably my issue.

My question is where will I find the air intake for the HVAC. I know I can get to the blower itself from the passenger side behind the glove box, but was wondering if there is an easier way to get to it.

Someone stated ,"cleaning out the trap by the firewallin the engine compartment", although I have looked and do not see it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
