the suction for hvac is on pass side cowl area but i found with mine that it would suck in leaves from around the drivers side wiper believe it or not.so i found a block of heavy duty black foam used to pack boxes and cut to fit the shape and a little oversized and stuffed it under the wiper between the plastic and have no problems in two years.if you find the kind of block i'm talking about just cut what you need and save the rest for when that piece may get hard and dry out and replace it with another piece
