You can check the fluid level of the top tank.
That is all you need to do.
Here is how
Important:
• When servicing the hydraulic system do not allow the fluid level to drop below the minimum indicator line on the reservoir.
• Inspect the hydraulic fluid level with the vehicle parked on a level surface, the folding top in the closed position, and the stowage compartment lid open.
• When new, the power folding top hydraulic fluid is golden clear. As the system is cycled, it picks up the carbon black from the numerous O-ring seals used in the system. The carbon black acts like a dye and causes the fluid to darken considerably and take on a black appearance. This is a normal occurrence and no repair attempts should be performed, as replacement fluid will also darken.
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Place the folding top in the open position.
Open the stowage compartment lid.
Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
Locate the hydraulic pump in the folding top storage compartment area.
Remove the folding top pump noise cover from the pump.
Place a shop towel around the pump motor to control any hydraulic fluid spillage.
Remove the reservoir filler plug (1)
Add fluid P/N 89022748 until the fluid level is at the MINIMUM indicator line in the reservoir.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Install the reservoir filler plug (1).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Remove the shop towel.
Remove the protective covering.
Close the stowage compartment lid.
Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
Ensure that the folding top is in the open position.
Open the stowage compartment lid.
Inspect the fluid level and add fluid as necessary.
Install the folding top pump noise cover onto the pump.
Close the stowage compartment lid.
