I was born and raised in Tarrytown . my grandfather was one of the first workers at Maxwell auto plant in 1900 on this sight . in 1903 it was taken over by Chevy. Grandpa was there for over 45 years My father worked there for 42 years . I worked there 21 years My sons also worked there before it closed . They are still with GM . We all worked hard for GM and GM gave us a good living . This plant built cars and trucks also airplanes for WW 2 It makes me sick to see empty lot where there once was a auto plant with over 4000 workers 2 shifts making 62 cars per hour. now no one works there. This what the American auto industery will look like if we do not support the BIG THREE with a helping hand . BUY AMERICAN . My son Ron will be laid off after 22 years with GM when the Jansville truck plant locks its doors for ever on December 23 of this year. I am a retired 30 year member of the UAW and have worked for my retirement i do not want to loose it now. MARTY
