I don't know about the rest of you, but I grew weary of banging my head
on the 3 exposed threaded studs on the back side of the SSR "Chevrolet" hood emblem. Plus, I've always disliked the looks of the threaded studs themselves. (See post #18 of this thread for before and after photos.)
We'll I've come up with a solution that works for me on both counts. First, while this solution can't prevent you from hitting them with you head, nevertheless the blow and potential damage to your scalp should be substantailly minimized. Second, I believe that this solution dresses things up nicely.
If any of you are interested, I'm selling the set of 3 stud protectors for $12.00 to fanatics. The price includes shipping. What you will get is as follows:
1. Three (3) @ 1/2" long pieces of 3/8" diameter Taylor "Sho-Tuff" chrome split conduit.....the good stuff that doesn't flake or chip.
2. Three (3) chrome steel bolt caps with pre-glued in inserts forming a flush outer surface so that they are ready to be pushed on and screwed into place.
I've attached a close up photo of one of the installed assemblies. I've had mine on for about 1-1/2 months.
