this one is probably a repeat but it fits right in here
While I was president of our regional genealogical society, a member shared this 'tale' -
"A prominent family decided to compile a family history as a legacy for the children. To this effect, they hired a respected author.
Only one problem arose - how to handle the story of great-uncle George, a murderer executed in the electric chair.
The author told the family not to worry. He stated that he could handle the family's infamous ancestor with tact.
When the book appeared, it read, "Great-Uncle George occupied a chair of applied electronics at an important government institution. He was attached to this position by the strongest of ties. His sudden death came as a great shock.""
