I remember a 55 Buick with a 455 that ran mid 13s and a T bucket with an injected hemi called Baby Huey drive by a huge 400 lb guy, his wife ran a matching t bucket with a turbo charged pinto motor in it, my neighbors ran the speed shop in Hanford and they ran a 67 Nova with a destroked 400 small block, roller cam, 5000 stall converter and 5.14 gears it was running low 11s/high 10s I ended up buying that Nova and driving it on the street for a while with a milder 327 and 3500 converter, still had the 5.14 gears and line lock was a lot of fun.
The good Ole Days Eh Buddy! I hope to find some old 8 mm films of the fiftys at Famosa. Heck the Cars that lined the Drag Strip were the Guard Rails back then. I remember sitting on top of our car and watching the Races. I also saw some pretty bad Crashes in to peoples Cars that lined the Strip.
