I just curious about the RPMs (and MPG loss) you are seeing with the 4.10 and 4.56 gears at say 70MPH. Is everyone running 87 or a higher octane gas?

I considering modifiying my air filter to either the Callaway http://www.ssrfanatic.com/forum/175689-post21.html or K&N air intake mods.

While I am leaning toward the Callaway mod with a K&N filter insert, it looks a little cheesy, especially the rubitex "sealing" system. Also, if I don't like it, I can't "fix it". Anyone know if "someone" is offering an aftermarket stainless steel/aluminum version, or do I need to pull out the tig rig and make my own?
