Why OH why are people bidding who own SSR's??????????????

Sorry im very frustrated.. ive given alot of my personal time up searching for a good deal plus some hard earned vacation to search for this SSR... partly my fault that two weeks i was off work since i didnt check with my bank first to get my low offered interest rate i have now....but i have dealt with MANY MANY dealerships and lying dealers through this search.. NOTHING like ive ever experienced before...

I REALLY want to say I have had the GREAT chance to meet some of you off this site thru emails and personal messages to many phone calls.. your very nice gals and guys... meaning just the ones who dont sell SSR's...LOL...and to add you seem to have a great little SSR community here i wanted to join.

I will check back time to time since i feel i better give this up soon and move on to something else. I cant handle many more disapointments and i also think its a sign saying I dont need an SSR. Only a slight chance left i will be buying an SSR now.

PEACE OUT! Tony in Dallas
I don't feel Tony ever intended to purchase an SSR. He stopped bidding at $10,000.00. Current high bid is $27,000.00 He was willing according to earlier posts to pay $30,000.00. So why is he not bidding?

I'm one for seeing all that can get into a SSR - GET into an SSR. This talk of holdin' up bids - etc just does not sit right with me. IF you have a hard time on eBay - then maybe it's not the right place to get a slightly used SSR - unless you use the buy it now:

After doing a quick check, I found the following BUY IT NOW prices:
Blur 05 - 36,455
Black 04 - 30,761
Black 04 - 29,988
Purple 04 - 31,750
Black 03 - 30,900
Black 03 - 28,975
Yellow 04 - 33,900
Red 03 - 31,900

Hi Keith
Where do you find tese cars, I have many connections in this business after 30 years and the dealers I visit with are still getting good money for them. Just yesterday I spoke with a friend @ a Chevy Dealership here in SoCal and they had just purchased 4 brand new 2004s from a dealer in Ohio. They paid invoice for all 4 plus shipping. What that tells me is if this car is Distressed Merchandise.....it certainly isn't here in good ol' SoCal

Found them on eBay - did a search on SSR - then sorted price - high to low.

Looked at just BUY IT NOW prices - NOT saying any of these is a good deal - I have NO clue as to condition - etc...

Since late 2003 - SoCal seems to be a HOT market - other areas of the country not so lucky...

Central California Boardwalk Chevrolet Sold theirs to another dealer and invoice less $7500 and then a considerable loss if they paid invoice for one they are not very inteligent and i doubt that with one phone call i can have 50 of them bought for 2k under invoice less the year end money but even there the market is not that hot

Tony, want a GTO?

Hey Tony, I have an 04 GTO which I really enjoy, but have always wanted an SSR.
I am leasing the GTO, just turned 4100 miles. If you would like more info, e-mail me at: FBodies@AOL.com I would go for an 05 or maybe that 04 Silver that you know about.....................................................Tom

Whatever you do, lots of luck in your find!!!!

Hey Tom i appreciate the offer on your Goat.. but i dont buy used sports cars, they tend to be beat up pretty good on the first 5,000 miles or so. Maybe your not like that, but im sure the gears have been slammed a few times. lol.. Just when i buy sports cars i want to be the ONLY one who has slammed those gears. I mostly drive like an old man.. LOL..

take care and hope you do better than i did on your SSR desires.. haha.. No loss tho only something i cared to add to my inventory.

take care.. T.

Who, in their right mind, could like anything that lost $15,000 to $20,000 in the first year? That is 33 to 40% of their investment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I'll be hanged if I am gonna sell it for $22,000 to $25,000!!! It will still be worth that from now till eternity!

Automobiles are not an investment they are an expense. The key is reducing your cost per mile.

So the thing here is not that you cost per mile has been high, say $20 per mile, rather that your mileage is to low to be cost effective.

What is needed here is high intensity, long distance driving to reduce the cost per mile to a more comfortable level.

Don't forget the sunscreen!
