I am posting this for my stepdad, so that makes me the middle guy. I dont know a heck of alot about the SSR or his in particular, but i made sure and asked a few key questions and here are the answers i got:
it's a 2005 Chevy SSR , is black, has hard convertible top. it has a 6 speed manual transmission. it has an aftermarket flowmaster exhaust system on it (sounds beefy) and he had the 'stupid' expensive windshield wiper arms replaced with something someone his age can deal with. (which means less cost to replace them overall now) he has $8,000.00 in addons on it like chrome mags, wood paneling and the exhaust system.
without him looking over my shoulder, i can tell you this: he's really anal about that truck. he doesnt want anyone brushing up against it while its in the garage and he doesnt even let us leave fingerprints on the door. he puts that thing in the shop for the most ridiculous reasons. oil changes and all... (i wont even go into what happened when he got this last set of tires...)
needless to say, this is a VERY well taken care of vehicle. i just feel that i had to toss that in there cause the man really does take care of his gear.
he is asking $25,000.00 for this (corvette with truck body) truck. we are located in Eureka, CA. i dont know how to make myself available for contact without putting my email address. i just signed up for this forum ten minutes ago so i can post his truck and i dont want to break the forum rules of not posting email address.
anyway, to the best of my ability for now, that what i have.

Robert. You need to get a couple more posts before you can even receive Private messages. I will post some pictures for you if you have them or can get them. Email them to BlueStreakSSR@aol.com with a note to remind me why you are sending them. Topic line SSR pix or some such.
A VIN# would also be helpful.

Rob, once your Dad has a chance to look over the Fanatic forum he may decide to keep his truck.
Other possible dealer Installed items he might have:
Hitch insert? no
Cockpit windbreak? yes
Cargo Netting & bar? no
Hard Storage Bins? no
Soft storage Bags? no
i tried taking some pics....but i think i need a better camera and a sunny day. they came out too grainy and undefined. but i was able to get the VIN...which i posted above. it has wood slats on carpet in the bed. it's all black on black except for the console gauges..theyre silver. that's my update. i'll post more as i get it. thanky
No more info than i have posted already.
Am still working on getting a picture up in here. in the meantime the 'avatar' that i selected is a black ssr that looks just like his.
im not sure if the gas cap/hatch on his is black like the rest of the truck or silver like the one in the pic. that got me so ill hafta take a look next time he drives it over here.
if i wasnt up to my eyeballs in debt with no income i'd buy that thing myself and it'd become a lifetime project.
I just caught this message this morning and am going to see if i can get some pics today in spite of the weather. I'll send the pics to you as well as the fella that originally posted to help me here if i cant upload them to this site myself yet.
ok, so I just uploaded these pics to this image-uploading site (image shack) and ought to be safe and good to view. I don't know how to get them into this forum yet and im not about to bug the fella that offered to help juuust yet.
Also, my stepdad wanted me to add that he is asking 25k O.B.O.
Thanky again all

Looks like new!
Maybe thats because the pictures were taken in 8.9.2004.
I'm not even sure how that is possible as 1GCES14H55B119583 would have a build date some time around 12.20.2004.
Being a 6sp it has to have been built after 8.24.2004 as that is the first MY2005 build date other than the early MY builds which would have a much lower VIN. Are you sure about the VIN? Or if the pictures are of the correct one?
Maybe take a picture of the VIN tag through the windshield.

Sometimes, if the battery in the camera goes dead, the date may back up...I recently took some photos dated in 2006. Hadn't used that particular camera in a while and had not checked the date and time on it to make sure the date stamp was right

Using anything but focus, point and click would require reading a manual so I have never used the date option.
I wondered if an error could be made with that.

that's what happens when you take a new camera out of the box and don't set the date on it
these pics were taken a couple days ago. well, the ones in the parking lot are a week or so before that. i didnt think they had turned out as good as they did. it's one of those 'Aiptek' cameras that has a flip-out screen on it so you can see the pictures and they didnt look good so i didnt use them. till i saw them on my desktop...
-starts trying to figure out how to change date on digital camera-

Thanks Rob. Given the pictures are that recent your stepdads SSR looks very clean at 60k.
Body color boards (nice) and satin gauges means VXK package which (I think) gives it a black engine cover insert.
It does have the RAE - hard cover storage bins.
Nice SSR.

thanky again
and yeah..he laughed when he saw i put it didnt have the bins. he asked me what i thought 'those' were. ....i thought they were wheel wells. oh well.....heh.
i think i got the camera date set all proper now. i'll take a pic of under the hood next time he cruises over here. if you can think of anything else to take a 'detail' pic of please don't hesitate to let me know. do i still need to get a visual on the v.i.n. or do we have that sorted out?
he made me repeat that number back military - style as he read it off so i'm sure we have it dead on. but i'm going to delete the old pics and take new ones so i'll have room for w/e ^^
happy hunting!
Im looking for an SSR. I own a 1972 Corvette in excellent condition and I am looking to trade for an SSR, if interested e-mail me at [non-supporting member must use PMs]I can send pics and videos if interested.
Thanks...Ron
Is this Black 05 6 speed still for sale? It seems like it's been on the market a long time, and at 18,500.00 it should have been long gone, even considering the high mileage.
