Any issues to watch for on low mile 04's
Yes - I have been looking for another SSR and mentioned to my wife last night that when I sell my F150 FX4 Tonka 4x4 (anyone interested?) that I planned to buy a UV SSR to leave at our house in Tucson. Of course I waited to mention this until we had both had a few glasses of wine and thought it would be a good follow up to informing her that I plan to drive my Vette to Tucson in a couple weeks to store it for the winter.
Guess what!!!!!!!!!!!
No problemo!!! She thought it was a great idea
So - as I have been looking over the last several months I have come across a couple with less than 3000 miles and wonder if there are any potential issues that could crop up as a result of them not being driven regularly?

Had my FPR and another is not in the card$ right now.
Friday, January 11, 2004! Two of the guys in charge of interior door latches were on the UAW Thursday Night bowling team that won the championship match on Thursday the 10th. Boy that was a party! Good idea to avoid SSR's built that Friday I hear. Then again, Bill, the guy in charge of ignition switches got lucky that morning. Go figure!

My SSR: goodies by mike in az, lyndon wester, greg ducato, & sinister.
my 04 u/v has 65,000 kms on it, no real problems , fan went a couple weeks ago, but overall a good one !! so don't be afraid to buy one with a few miles on it, the low mile garage queens you don't know if you got a good one or not. the only way you know is by driving them.
My SSR: Pearl over UV tu-tone - "PurLple" w/ custom billet rallye wheels/baby moons & wide whitewalls, 4:56s
my U.V. is a keeper, no issues but it does have 57,000 kms. It's a roadtrip queen The only SSR's on lot's lately that we notice are all
Great to hear that you're back on the right track Bob

I know, I know....... but I had my fling with the hot & fast blond () and I guess I'm starting to mature a little as I look for a lasting relationship. Besides ..... I still have my BMBLBEE for the days I need to do some hot laps.
I would strongly recommend a 2005 or 2006 truck over a 2003 or 2004. By 2005, the vehicle quality was just outstanding. Early 2004's were a little shaky. There were hundreds of small engineering changes happening on the 2004s. At least try to get a later 2004, if you are so inclined. The later the better. The 6.0L makes a huge difference in the vehicle vs the 5.3L in my opinion. Good luck.

My first choice is a UV and the ones I have been looking at are late 04 production models. Also starting to browse 05's and have seen a few well priced ones out there but $ are a consideration. Good advice and will be taken into consideration. Thanks
BMBLBEE, It's time to take care of Dad, trust me, having raised 4 kids, it never ends. Kathy and I have decided it's time for us to take care of us, try it you'll like it!!!

We Agree and are getting better at saying NO. (me much more so than their mother) I guess I am to blame for getting him hooked on the things I enjoy and spoiled him by giving him to much help to acquire these nice toys but the party is over and I promise to try and say no more frequently.
Thanks Sandy - I'll check them all out - you must have spare time on your hands to help me with the shopping . The best part is you can shop without spending.

My only suggestion Bmblbee...............................
Once you find a few UV"s have Byers or Richard (Umpire13) run warranty work sheets on them. You will always hear the negatives but there are alot of SSR's ( all years) that have had zero problems....
Knock on wood I've had no problems and have had the time to get the parts I need on the common problems so I'm ready to change out and keep going.
No remarks GQ Marc (abadssr) I've got twice the mileage on mine as yours...

I do have more time on my hands now that the fall is here. Our work is slowing down and the SSR roadtrips have come to an end. Speaking of which, how are you getting the chosen to Tucson?

After my 1700 mile drive in two days I don't feel much like another road trip but give me a few days to rest up and that would be my preference. I would want to look it over myself before handing a check to the seller and in a worst case scenario be ready to back out of the deal and fly back home rather than getting something that does not pass inspection.
I did look at the links you sent and while they all look nice I do think the dealers need a reallity check on what they are asking. In my search I have seen some very nice '05's in the mid $20's so pushing for high $20's on a '04 even with low miles would not get me excited enough to make an offer. I would LIKE to get a nice UV but have not eliminated Yellow or Red '05's as other options if I can't get the right deal on an '04 UV.
I am playing things a little more slowly after my first (and so far......only) wife informed me "she thought I was joking about another SSR" just before I left to come to Tucson . Could be a frosty trip when we come back together in Nov but my son will be here so he and I can always head out and play golf.

Bob, did you happen to click on the link I gave for the Sig #7? It doesn't work now. Nor did it work for Mike in Ontario (mikeb326) that owns it!!!!!!!! It's got us both wondering what the heck I have tried going thru the CarDomain list where I found the ad but it's no longer there. Very bizarre. The ad had pictures under the hood and it showed the purple engine cover. Another shot showed the seats, they were embroidered with a waterfall badge between. And the VIN was listed, all 0's and a 7. And of course the price was $59,999. The seller did not actually say "Signature Series", but by the price they obviously knew what they were talking about. I'm wondering if it's a bate and switch of some sort.
I went back in my Computers history but the only page that I could find is this one CARFAX vehicle history for VIN 1GCES64P83B000007
Darn, when I click on that link it doesn't work Here - I copy and pasted it :
