I have my money but still DREAMING of better financing. So its the interest rate holding me up right now.

I'm still interested and whoever can give me the best deal, i cant get Texas dealers to deal on a SSR like you can William. Eloan.com was no better for me on financing.

Thanks.. Tony

NOPE your not dreaming.. if your credit score is good, you can get that easy with a smartbuy... i turned down a smarbuy yesterday on a FULLY loaded 05 SSR only had to put down the TTL payments would have been $600.00 a month.. that was a 48 month smartbuy with 12,000 miles a year for each of your 4 years. now you can pay a bit more if you need 15,000 or 18,000 miles a year. I wanted my payments closer to $500 a month... but they weren't coming down anymore on the SSR and i wasn't putting a bunch down on something im not keeping for ever.

Okay cool some people just like to buy outright.. not a problem... i've only done the old style leasing once in life.. smartbuy is just an option and something im looking at in the 05 model...it gets ya lower payments without sinking in 10grand up front....thats about what you need to get into the 600 a month range in payments...but WOW 30,000 miles a year on an SSR? i dont think i would do that in that vehicle..lol.. but thats me, mine will be a fair weather day/weekend Roadster.

Okay smartbuy is not a lease, you own the vehicle unlike in a lease and you can hand the vehicle and keys over at the end of your term or get into something else even sometimes up to 9 months early with no penalitys and no payments for that early turn in.. are you can keep it and pay a residual that is set at the time of the lease or finance that residual amount if you care to keep the vehicle (in which i trade/sell alot and go to something else), Just to me it has its good points because i lose interest in a vehicle pretty quick and this way your not out alot of money up front, plus your interest rate is locked in even at the end if your wanting to keep the vehicle. thats another plus in case the interest rates go up high in the future.. So i cant see too many negatives besides if your going to pile up some mileage. some states have smartbuy and some states just dont like NY.

Have fun

that sounds like a great deal

The smart buys have a lot higher interest rate than 5.9%. And at the end of 3 years you still owe 28,000 on the vehicle, while at the end of three years on a purchase you'd only owe 18,000. Even if I wanted to get rid of the SSR at the end of 3 years I'm sure I could get 18,000 out of it.

NOPE not so, my smartbuy was at 6% and the residual was $22,000.00 at the end.. so not a bad deal and a smartbuy at a GREAT interest rate. I also have the paper work. But you can walk away at the end.. No money out of your pocket.. cant do that with alot of the purchases UNLESS you put down a load of $$$$$

I bought my SSR in June 2003 - I pre-approved thru e*Trade and snagged a 3.9% rate. I have no clue what their current rate is. (With perfect credit the best GMAC would do back then was 5.9%)

Hey RSHottel.... how are ya? i see your search is still on like mine.

I've been looking for awhile myself and i do like that 04 Ultra Violet color.

I'd take one for that pricing too if someone has two?? LOL.. but RSHottel gets first pick since he ask first.

I was talking to a nice guy on ebay about his low numbered 03 SSR but i cant see paying 35grand just because its a low numbered SSR when you can buy an new 04 for 30grand with no mileage with full warranty.. If i was a car collector tho i would buy his low numbered 03.

good luck.. someone take care of us remaining buyers.. i have financing READY at a good interest rate.. Just waiting on the deal to appear.. PM me or send me an email with your best offers. Hope to buy this week!!

I am really busy with work so I am not looking as hard as I was earlier. Now I am leaning towards waiting for the 06. Maybe they will have some new features that might inspire me to forgo the high price and bite the bullet. But you never know SSRs are still sitting on the lots here in So Cal. I also saw the low numbered one on e-bay and thought it was too high for me. Capital one sent me an e-mail and said I had not used my check and that I should renew it. It is still good till the end of the week. Hope you find yours!

Thanks for the good luck on finding the SSR of my choice... Yeah the 03 on ebay was very nice looking in the pics but wanting 35grand and i told the owner i couldnt see paying 35grand for an 03 with some miles on it even tho its a low vin number when i can get a new 04 with a lot longer warranty for 30grand.. but now im leaning towards the 05 kinda sorta, unless someone comes up with a wonderful deal.

Sold my daily driver today so i'm really ready..haha.... NOW what should i buy? LOL

Good luck RSHottel
