Black 03, 56,000 miles

2003 Black, known as Black Betty, $20,000.00. Hope to be at Maggie Valley with her for one last run. I have the title, paid for. Custom paint, carpeted bed, custom hard saddle bags. Been taken very good care of. Good show car. Red light up widsupressr. You can not imagine the emotions this car evokes. It deeply saddens me to part with it.

Thanks you guys. You know what this thing has meant to me the last five years, but realistically, I won't be able to afford to keep it up. The biggest hurdle is what to replace it with? It will take at least two vehicles and I doubt I can do that. It's all about customer service for me and I have had very little of that over the last five years with this vehicle. There just don't seem to be any competent mechanics in my area that can fix this baby.

The mini clubman is exactly big enough to put a 3' X 4' painting in the back and the S version is a solid pocket rocket! The best part is when the warranty wears out, they still give you a loaner whenever you drop off the vehicle, no charge. After Maggie Valley our garage may just be converted into Obie's Italian Job with our mini and maxi.

I'm really sorry to see that you've decided to let her go. I know you are going to miss her. I know what I was like when Jewel was totalled and thought for a day that I wasn't going to be able to replace her with another. I was thoroughly heartbroken. I sure do hope you change your mind, but if not, good luck on the sale and with whatever you choose to replace her with.

If I don't sell my SSR before going to Maggie Valley, I will have the title with me when I get there if anyone is interested. I just drove the mini clubman turbo fully loaded and it will accomodate my paintings, gets 38mpg, and takes off like a rocket! Laser blue, white stripes, chromed out, etc. SSR it ain't, but I have to adjust my lifestyle accordingly these days and I can't accomodate the expense of the SSR and the amount of gas it uses. I hate to go with "Practicality", but unfortunately my selfish passion for power has to be reigned in. Someone is going to be getting a very nice SSR! I will still be on this site and treasure all of my great friends here for sure! YOu guys&gals are awesome.

I know we are all looking at the cost of operating our beloved trucks.... but there is just no replacement for displacement.

With what ever you decide.... only the very best... but I am afraid you'll end up very disheartened.
For you, I hope I'm wrong....

Unfortunately I will not be making the Maggie Valley Run, this year, but it sounds (no pun intended) like there will be plenty of folks there to bug the living crap out of you about not selling your SSR. I just wish I could have been one of them.

John: I will bring the title. Just put the deposit on my new Mini Clubman S and I got to tell ya, that little bugger flies!!!!!!!!! Salesman was not a bit worried because he does autocross as well. The sport suspension is fantastic as well as the other little goodies. I was a tad worried when they tried to get the key out of my SSR and asked if there was a trick to it? I thought, OMG, not again! Black Betty is safe and sound right now. I thought that after being at Maggie Valley a few days I would be so high on those Margaritas Furkay is making that I could just fly home on the fumes!

Hey John! I have the feeling that chain is gonna get stretched pretty good when we get there! I will be driving the SSR. The mini is not built yet. Had to order all the goodies I wanted custom. That usually takes about 6-7 weeks.

Thanks to Wingrider (Bill), I had a new ignition switch installed and the idiot lights no longer come on and the tranny works perfect. The older switches in the 03's were not strong enough to handle all that current. He also noticed that the original installation and alignment of the gears on my switch were never correctly lined up and this caused a significant amount of the troubles I was having. The vehicle's reliability is now much enhanced. Thanks Bill! I have six seriously interested buyers at this time so we shall see what happens.
