Final Production, chrome wheels, two tone, chrome package. If it has carpeted trunk, that's a great buy.

It also has the bowtie in image 22.
It was listed last night at 9:00 and was already sold by this morning.
I heard it was sold to a dealer in Texas.
Do you know anything about that Mike?

Lakecat how do you like the "teardrop" SSR.
Is the snow gone out there yet?
Drive it down to Maggie Valley in May so we can see it.

It did sell for a good price...

There were a few things that I could observe a little different on that SSR. First... the front license bracket for the plate was up one bar too high. Scratches on the front fascia passenger side. Custom pinstripes and wheel well moldings. The seat with the Custom Cash logo and the Chevy Bowtie looks to me like it was a vinyl sticker that was just yanked off leaving behind a some what of a bad image or imprint with what looks like some extra adhesive still left stuck on the seats. The FPR Badge has some fine scratches on it... but for the price it would be easy to fix anything that the new owner might want to fix or change.

That was a beautiful truck. Did you see the logo in the leather on the seat back?... just was curious as to what and who that was.

I love the "teardrop" but the frustration is not being able to even pull it out of garage to really go over it and check it out. I barely had time to get it from dealers to home before a snowstorm hit and the weather has been crappy ever since. Suppose to get 10 inches of snow tonght and tomorrow..

I just got literature from Maggie Valley and have been looking. Still up in the air as wife and daughter are going to Cali in april to check out some schools. Will know more later....just not used to winter lasting this long...it sucks!

No, I've never seen that one.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on some wheel well covers like the ones on this truck?

That's why I was asking about that logo on the seat. I imagine that whoever that was put the custom touches on it. I liked the lights and wheel wells too. I googled that name and got nuttin'.

Kay,

That bright chrome trim molding looks a bit wider than the 1/8" wide stuff that I used on my truck. I put the same molding on 18 fanatic's SSRs at the Springfield Super Rally last June, and I've done 27 total (including my own) to date.

Here's a link to the thread that I posted on it back in the fall of '06:
Tail Lights and 3rd Brake Light Trim:

The stuff is inexpensive and a lot of fun to mess around with. Plus it's easily removed.

I believe fanatic and eBay seller "vetteman62" offers some stainless steel tail light trim kits. That might be what was pictured on the '06 2-tone. I'm not sure.

Alex

I like the wheel well trim. I'd like to see it close up. Would consider using on mine.

Frank,

Too bad the photos are not of better quality. Some potentially interesting stuff going on there.

Alex put this on my '04 and wouldn't even let me pay for the effort! It still looks great and people with SSRs notice it very often. Really sets an "R" off! Thanks again, Alex! Don

Just by chance when looking around, I found out who bought this truck. Was looking at pics of it and the chrome around tail lights sparked a memory. Still like the chrome trim around wheel wells and the tail lights.

Possible explanation for "Cash's" edition

As for the Cash's special edition, I would bet by the seller being in Enterprise, AL, that this was an SSR customized for a local businessman in Fort Walton Beach, FL. He apparently has a penchant for very nice cars. He own's "Cash's" liquor stores and nightclubs. I have seen several customized and high end cars parked at his establishements. I do not know him nor have I ever been in any of his placess, but I have seen the cars.

Purple Penelope lives in the area. He could probably verify if the SSR was actually this "Cash's".

Thanks for response. You are probably correct that this was his vehicle. I emailed the seller and asked if he could take a closer pic of wheel wells as I am trying to locate that chrome. I have looked and can't seem to find it but would love a closer pic of it. But then it could have been made just for his truck.

The trim around the wheel wells, lights and rear panel all look like the chrome trim available in most automotive stores as body molding which is available in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 inch widths. It is chrome plated plastic, bendable, has 3m backing and about $15 for 20 feet or so. Alex05SSR has used this material in similar areas and has posted about it here: http://www.ssrfanatic.com/forum/167576-post154.html
Or read the entire thread with more tips here: Inexpensive accessories/add-ons for SSR:

Since that post, he has installed the trim for a few members at various events and it does give a little extra nice bling to several areas. The strips are available in several widths, cheap and easy to install, the possibilities are endless. There's even someone that made a "kit" from Alex's idea and selling precut pieces for a decent $$$ profit on EBay to those that don't know about this simple cheap mod.

Thanxx Hoop.....Cash's SSR (at least the one I know of)is red and it is for sale in a lot here in FWB, saw it for the first time yesterday on Racetrack Road. His is an '04 and has 22's all around with fender well molding. Talked to him a year or so ago outside his liquor store on Okaloosa Island. He wasn't much of a Fanatic or has the interests in SSR's which we have.

This tu-tone was bought by coolwilly....who is a dealer as well...but don't know where. We'll see this "R" be for sale again because that's what this buyer does for a living.

P/P

Peace
