Has to be a typo???? In today's paper I saw a 63 split window Corvette for $4600, assumed it was a typo too. Maybe I should have called?

I just took another look at the pictures. Did anyone notice there are no leaves on the trees?

The building looks familiar too - like one I saw in another truck listing.

Run far and run fast, there have been a ton of these type ads on Craigslist for the last few months. All scams ....... EBay had major issues last year but they seem to have cleaned them out of there pretty well, looks like the bums have moved on to easier pickings .........

The picture shows an automatic!

I couldn't resist calling the Corvette phone #, but all I got was a fax machine beeping & squealing in my ear!

Interesting, JustaBlur . . . SHARP EYES!

There's gotta be a catch to this one . . . an '04 would be worth more than $10k "parted out" on eBay, wouldn't it?

Owner's manual? it doesn't say manual shift. Whatever, it's too cheap, so I'll bet scam.

manual

I think he means manual a/c. I just sent him an e-mail saying I would buy if it's what's shown. I live not far from D.C. Let's see if he replys to someone who actually wants to see in person.

You've got that right.

"Hi
Thank you for the interest in my car. This is a 2004 Chevrolet SSR LS,$9,000 the last price, 16,057 miles. It is in a very good condition,no scratches or dents on it.I would like for the transaction because is safer and also recommended to use an escrow as a third party.
My suggestion is eBay for the transaction. because i'm a member of ebay for five years ago,all of my transaction until now are maked trough ebay.here is my ebay user name,if you want to verify my sobriety : brucethewombat.
Here is how we can do this. The financial part will be managed by them. The only thing I request from you is to make the payment to eBay but no money will reach my account until the car is inspected. No offense, but I need to be sure the person who receives the car is verified by a legitimate party. To be able to receive or pick up thecar you'll have to make a US 4,500 deposit at eBay.This payment deposit includes the shipping fees, After you inspect the car,if anything seems wrong with it you'll be able to receive a refund from eBay.
Look how this works:
I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal.
They will email us the forms which are needed for our deal.
I will send the car to your location and you will send the downpayment at eBay.The car will arrive to your door in 5 days.
If by any reason the car is not as described or if you find any problems with it I will pay for the returning fees.I'm sure it won't be the case because it's a state of art looking and working vehicle.Anyway, you will have 7 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
I apologize if it seems like I'm pushing on this deal but I really want to be sure everything is clarified before any further steps. Please, let me know if some of the terms do not feet you or if you have other queries. If you wish to purchase it please provide me your full name, address and your phone number so I can initiate the deal through eBay and to start the shipping process.
I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. If you consider yourself one please e-mail me back so we can start our deal.
Please email me with any questions you may have.

Warm regards,
Andreea

Yup... that is exactly the type of email I've gotten on other "hard to believe" deals on Craigs list. It's the scam of the week... Nothing up there that is too good t be true is true!

I guess they find some suckers that go for this???

Listing has expired...

That could very well explain the pictures too. The building looks like it's from the local CARMAX operation over in Laurel MD.

unwillingness to provide a VIN # would also be a red flag.
