Works out to a 20 cents/mile "beating" the seller of the Texas truck ($18,000) on ebay is taking over the LaStrap ($29,950) truck. Usually when a SELLER takes a "beating" the BUYER benefits.

71,842 miles Original Post truck minus 10,000 miles Texas ebay truck = 61,842 miles
61,842 miles Texas ebay truck minus 2,338 LaStrap truck = 59,504 miles
59,504 miles divided INTO $11,950 ($29,950 - $18,000)LaStrap price less ebay truck price.
20 cents per mile "premium" to buy the LaStrap truck over the Texas ebay truck.
All other things being EQUAL, I would buy the Texas truck for much less and eat the miles. Others, MOST DEFINITELY, take a different view of this purchasing problem.

Took mine to CarMax to get a quote on what they would buy it for today just out of curiosity, 14K for the SSR and it now has 58K on the Odom. STill sweet and pristine condition. The mini dealership will give me 15K on trade in. Selling outright has its advantages, even if you do have to deal with a lot of challenging customers. I am still waiting for someone with a cashiers check or cash for 19K before I let her go. I would negotiate further as well if the person had the right tender.

If you paid $47,950 that was your error. I paid $34,000 for my NEW '04 (sticker $48,600) ! ! 47k miles on her when I traded her with only radiator fan and door handles going amiss (all covered by warranty). Maybe I just got lucky.

My NEW '06 (paid $38,500) has over 44k and "timing out" of the top several times is the only problem ever. (also covered by warranty)

If you can find a buyer that thinks your truck was worth $47,950 when you purchased it, then your price will sound great and you'll maybe get your number. You probably won't find them in here, however.

I wish you the best.

Let's not say that paying $47k is an error! I paid $47k and that was the lowest price to be had (unless you knew someone) in 2003....

I talked with a guy who paid $17,000 for his and it had about 2k miles on it.
(The womans husband died shortly after they bought it and she just wanted to get rid of it).

Probably not the best expression, WOW, I'll agree. However, if a purchaser's motivation in paying full price or higher in 2003 was thinking (or more properly speculating) that he'd sell used in 2006 for DOUBLE THAT PRICE because the SSR would be so popular everybody in the USA would have to have at least one, I'd call that an ERROR.

And if the purchaser in question got a great deal . . . thousands below MSRP when he purchased his truck, he can hardly use that as a selling point later on in showing the big disparity between what was the NEW value of his truck and how "little" he is selling it for today. All the time indirectly stating, as Rebel says, that it'll be worthless in 18k miles.
.
