Islanddreams just posted some new inventory, even the purple color you indicated you wanted in an earlier post. Seems to me if you have financing lined up you could be in an SSR, what are you waiting for?

Thanks Calcustom for telling me about the SSR at Chuck Fairbanks Chevrolet... wish i could take a black one , but i just dont want to buy a black vehicle again. Thought about my painter buddy putting a two tone paint job on it, but i really would like yellow, ultra violet, redline.....

Very nice Sales Manager over there named Bryan Raines... he was down to earth and didnt try to push me into their vehicle. ANYONE interested in a remaining NEW 04 Smokin Asphalt SSR write me a pm for pricing offered to me here in the DFW area.

At least i will give you the price offered to me.

Thanks Tony

Franchise

Even thou I work for GM, a lot of us at work complain about the treatment we get at some dealerships! At a cross section meeting we had last year with upper management from Detroit, this subject was brought up. We were told that their dealerships were set up like Franchises. They stated that if you do not like the service you get at one particular dealership then find one that will treat you like you want to be treated! I diden't really like their answer, but that's what was stated to us employee's.

Hey Scott,

I agree with you... that is pretty much the same story I have heard here too. If the dealer gets enough bad responses he could lose his franchise. That happened to one dealer here in WNY a little while ago he is no longer in GM Car business anymore.

GM rates dealers with their Feedback Surveys... that is just one weapon to make the dealer wake up if not he or she could go out of business too!

Correct me if I am wrong but if you go into a Chevy dealer and get treated bad and walk out and do not by a car GM is not going to send you a survey to find out right? How will GM even know you were there?

Thanks William but i have my financing set up as ive said in early posts.. my bank was cheaper than GMAC could do.... and im getting 5.25%. So its not financing, its deciding where to buy. I wanted closer to me since i blew alot of off time (vacation) a few weeks ago when i started shopping and thinking i was going to get good interest rates.. i called your dealership FIRST at that time... Now it would be nice to find one in my territory. I spoke to a dealership here about buying one out of state OR even out of Houston,TX (only 250 miles away) and in Houston there are plenty of 04 SSR's sitting around at dealerhips.. (4) new 04's sitting at one dealership.. they wont budge on pricing... But William with me paying 30grand my local dealerhips arent interested in buying one out of state or in state because they cant make any money off the deal buying it from you or whomever and selling it to me for 30grand. I am trying to work a deal on an 03 from this board, but im waiting on current pictures of the SSR... also this 03 could be sold locally because the seller says they have two serious buyers... wont know until the weekend or Monday.

SO IM STILL LOOKING... Who knows who will sell me an 03/04/05 SSR soon!

Z16Z06, There's an old Southern saying that certainly seems to apply to you and your buying a SSR. "Piss or get off the pot"! Buy one and then post how you wish you would have bought one sooner.

Okay on this your correct, BUT there's another way.. I have been contacted by GM with GREAT concern on my two complaints on dealerships out of Houston,Tx....... yes GM says what you guys are saying dealerships are individually owned, BUT they do have methods of putting some hurt on bad dealerships and GM wanted complete details, emails, ( remember i have it in writing in emails from dealerships) but you name it GM wanted it about my problems about trying to purchase an SSR and i had proof of the changed pricing, equiptment being changed or taken off the SSR ( can you say pictures of before and after). GM is going to get back with me and i really cant say what they can do.

I just say if you have a problem.. contact GM as i did.. the dealership in question may want to rethink what they do. I know something must of been done at one of the dealerships out of Houston because they are trying to contact me like crazy again after this.

I for one - really hope that you get one (SSR that is) soon - this is dragging on way too long...

I wanted my SSR so bad - I bought the dealerships first allocation - my chase consisted of the 'wait' for "Little Wing" to be built!!!

You say dragging?

Well if you think ive enjoyed the drama of dealerships screwing me over in the past weeks i havent. SO with that said this could have been over two or three weeks ago.

I will only buy the best one for me at the best pricing.

Some folks shop and then some just put whatever the dealership says it cost out there, i dont like giving away my hard earned money tho.

For example i was at the dealership here on April 20,2005 looking at that 04 Smokin Asphalt SSR and this older gentleman was there buying a big four door diesel Chevy pickup. I had been there awhile and got to know the sales manager finding out we live in the same area here, blah, blah, blah.. but they knew i was wanting a different color SSR from my very first email to his dealership, so we were just BS'ing..... but this salesmanager told me that this older guy just walked in and payed close to 55grand for this new 05 four door diesel pickup.. payed sticker and didnt ask questions.. I said "Why would he pay that much" the salesmanager said they see older retired people coming in time to time with money he guess's the've saved over the years and plop down the big bucks.. I dont think i will ever do that is my point.. im a shopper and i never buy when i need to buy its only when i want to buy something i want.

Shoppers

Z16Z06,
Some people are shoppers and some people are professional shopers. When I am looking for something, (car, TV, etc), I do my shopping, and if I'm treated right and believe I'm getting a good deal, I buy what I'm looking for no matter what it cost me. That doesn't mean I always get the best deal, but it does mean I get what I want, when I want it. I don't spend 6 months trying to get something when I can get it now
I have sold a lot of cars to people over the years who pay full sticker for the vehicles they want. These people were raised and educated in a different way than you were, and like me, they don't mind paying for what they want. Hope you find what you want.
Mike

Well i believe im one of the professional shoppers because im WELL informed on pricing, options and the stealership games. Not all dealerships are stealerships believe me my favorite Chevy house here in Plano,Tx has sold me many new cars last two were the new Z06's.. and if they had the 04 SSR remaining i wouldnt have ever posted here because they know im a frequent buyer and i get bored real quick on my vehicles, plus they get refferals from my business partners on many different vehicles they sell. im a WELL informed shopper and i dont ever buy unless i know everything is up front. I LAUGH hard at the dealerships who think they are doing me a favor by having the vehicle im looking for. Thats the ones i use to walk out on, now with this wonderful internet shopping its either a YES or NO. And i'll have it in writing if i travel out of town on pricing, opitions, etc. etc.

I appreciate YOU sir and everyone here who has helped me and slapped me around some..haha.. i like to have fun and shopping (the chase) is fun to me, it can be aggravating too. But in the end when you see me post up what i bought you'll all know im smiling and enjoying my new ride. I only keep writing because people write me back here asking questions or commenting.

To the ones i think who are tired of reading about my search:
I got tougher two plus years ago when i lost my loved one so If i grow tiresome to you tell me and i can go away or you can just not read my posts..

I mean NO harm.. im just wanting what i want and keeping everyone informed and aware of what goes on at some dealerships around the country.

Thanks people.. Tony

I'd agree - but say MOST will try to make the big bucks....

The local dealership got wind VIN#2 sold for 140k (May 2003) - not realizing this was a charity auction - their price for their #1 allocation went to $85k. I drove mine home from a decent dealership in Montana...

I wanted first in town - and got it - and a pretty good deal too @ 3.9% - with my own financing...

Really just want to see you spending quality smile time in an SSR. BTW: Get the Slingshot.

Your Right.....

kwhopper89,
Your absolutly right. And those dealers should be hung from the nearest oak tree by their thumbs. Those dealers constitute maybe 25% of all dealers in a certain brand. I just get tired of being pegged with those 25%. Nobody ever says anything about the $400,000.00 Porsche sellers.
(I now feel so much better, and to think I used to $45.00 an hour for what I get here for free

Hopefully I will have my long awaited SSR tommorrow. A dealer in my area has an 05 with the 6 speed and chrome wheels a wind break and aux package in Aqua Blurr. They e-mailed and offered $43,120 + t+l. So offered back $39.5k and they e-mailed back saying we have a deal come on in a get it. I hope they do not do to me what has been done to Z16Z06. If they do I will notify GM as I have the e-mails to prove it as well. Wish me luck?

Is this a 1SB package? If so this has got to be the best price I have heard of on an 05' SSR not to mention a six speed!!! That would be an awsome price even at $43,120.00. Good luck!

No, it is the only SSR out here that I know of without the 1SB. On another note my woman is saying no way that I do not need another truck.
