It's got all the toys going for it - except it's not a Final Production.
Otherwise I know where it would find a good home.
I'm guessing reserve is at 41K?
The owner was looking for 47K on the original thread.
I hope he can get it.
40 years from now, this would be an incredible barn find, and probably worth a pretty decent price. At this stage, it would be holding MSRP at that price.

Is this the guy that came to last years Woodward Dream Cruise, he own 5 SSR,s all delievered straight from the dealer and unloaded into a barn? Deb (Hotrod Girl) you may know best, I believe he was from PA.
This has to be the same guy, if so he was the guy who drove a silver SuperCharged SSR. I will always remember him since he drove into the hotel with the bars on the smiley face taped over with electrical tape to protect against rock chips. I believe he is posessed with keeping his trucks in collectable condition.
It is a nice truck but if he is asking bigger bucks for it, I certainly would market it a little better than what he is displaying. To me a barn would be the last place I would store something this nice.

I kinda like the "barn find" approach. Isn't it every car nut's ultimate dream to find that perfect vehicle covered in dust in an old barn? This one's close, but not quite the ultimate find.
41Chevcoe found a beautiful, running old classic some time back.
We're hoping that a totally original 64 GTO that was discovered recently with the plastic seat covers still on it will make it to the Beach Cruise this year. The buyer paid $3000 for it, and once the 3 inches of dust was removed, found himself with a dent free, rust free body with no missing parts. Why not me?

My kind of find. That 64 GTO brings back teenage memories.
Maybe for an old classic and cheap. This one though is top price for a "brand new" classic. If I had 47 grand to spend, the vehicle better not even have a trace of dust on it, let alone 4 inches under plastic..

Personally... I find it amazing people will purchase a vehicle like the SSR and not drive it. Cars are meant to be driven - even if you're saving it as a future classic, it should be driven and enjoyed. Sure I'd love to have a 1962 Vette with 16 miles... but I'd be just as happy with a 62 Vette with unknown miles if it was all original and looked brand new. If I want to just make money, I'd go invest in the Stock Market. Faster ROI if you make the right call.
We got our SSR as a collectable and plan on enjoying it for many years (15-20+). When we sell it I hope to offer a show-room clean, all original vehicle with under 100K miles of smiles per-mile on the odometer.
Barn storage is certainly worrysome (damp and dark storage, probably without a car cover), and also tends to attract insects, rodents and birds for shelter. Would definitely want to give it the "once over" before laying down the big bucks on this one. What worries me is was it pushed out of the barn or was it pulled out with a tractor?

If it was my toy, I would be firing it up every couple of weeks to keep the engine happy. Do that now with the winter stored SSRs. Barring disaster, should be no need to pull, push or drag.

Don't disagree with that, but I personally wouldn't spend $47K on this one or another just like it with 15 miles and heated/garage kept. Too much variety to pick from for less $ and I'm thinking there's going to be several more available down the road when folks realize they're gonna have to sit on em for more than 2-3 years to get a positive ROI. End of the rainbow is distant for that pot of gold. My $.02

I'm with ya...I'm of the drive and enjoy pursuasion as well. If it's just gonna be parked, I can get a nice poster to hang in the garage for a lot less. My other $.02

Lakecat...We're on the same page, just different verses. Obviously, showing a picture in front of a barn is not optimal advertising/marketing. My point was, if his asking price is $47K, it's too high, barn or no barn. Is he going about it the right way to get the most $$ by shooting a picture with the barn and identifying it as garage kept...don't think so. On that we agree. But I also agree with Flash...I kinda like the "barn find" approach. But it would have to be at the "barn find" price.
Just because my garage has a gambrel roof and a lot of trees on my property, does not make my garage a barn. I keep my SSR in my garage.

Doesn't really matter if that was your barn or garage. What is being said is your price is high for this web site. There is someone out there who sees the value of your ssr as you do. Be patient and don't take offence to what is said here. Remember , we are ssr owners and have a apreciation for the classic truck it will one day be at any price.

If you look real close you will see that that was never in that barn. The truck is wider than the door. The only it might have gone is on its side. but it looks clean to me, even if I think the price is too high. Good Luck with the Sale I say. I hope he gets it.

I think that, indeed, that SSR came out of that building and calling it a barn is a mistake. To me it looks like a new block building with a cement floor and a hip roof that gives it a barn look. I'd take no exception to an SSR stored there.
Pretty impressed with the strong bidding. Stopped at $42800 without meeting reserve. Srong money for a very nice truck.
Makes me feel good about mine...a clone to the one that was on Ebay and mine is a final production. Only I've got 18k miles on mine. I'd love to know what the seller had se the reserve at.

On an earlier post, someone mentioned he wanted $47K.
