My SSR: '05 Concept Truck, powered by Heavy Duty rubberbands, and a really BIG WINDUP KEY!
I like how when you look at the pictures it says "48 MONTH OR 48000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY" & "5 YEAR OR 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY", but when you get to the bottom of the ad it says, "AS IS - NO WARRANTY
This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied."

they also said the paint is factory original front to back. I THINK THE BLUE WAS PAINTED OVER THE SILVER BUT IT WAS TO COSTLY TO DO THE WATERFALL BLUE.....
According to Byers post of Ricochet Silver breakdown, this car has definetly been painted, at least the Blue upper portion. Did you read the disclaimer?
AS IS - NO WARRANTY

The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. Kinda makes everything in the ad suspect, don't you think??
I sent them an e-mail about the cast iron engine and I see they removed that from the picture, but now I sent another one about the tu-tone being original when the build info on GMVIS show solid silver, we'll see if they change that

Why on earth would the waterfall be to costly to paint. After all, it comes apart real easy.
There a Thread somewhere here that WOW_FTCR posted that outlines how it comes apart.

And the windshield and shifter plastic is also easy to remove/replace too. The only one I haven't removed is on the doors.....either way, I think they choose the expensive half to paint, with the roof panels, cover, etc., so why not do it right, or at least all the way?

Sorry for this hi-jack, but just how do you remove plastic trim between the windshield and dash? I know it got those tabs, but were do you pull on it?
Just got off the phone with Ted Dowell from Lone Star Chevy. He was most grateful for all the help from the Fanatics and will change the ad soon. He will visit the site to learn all that he can about these amazing little trucks. He is very impressed with the response from everyone!! The truck DOES have the GM Warranty and the ad on "GM Certified" Warranty.

ROD; WAS JUST TRYING TO POINT OUT THAT THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS A FACTORY PAINT JOB FRONT TO REAR AND THAT A POSSIBLE BUYER WOULD NOT REALIZE THIS AND GET STUCK WITH NON-FACTORY, TU-TONE FPR .......JOHN
And where does a 48 month bumper to bumper come from? Weren't they all 36 month which this 06 should still be covered by but ends shortly.[/quote]
lakecat, this is part of the "GM Certified Used Car Program" described below:
What Is GM Certified?
To even be considered for the GM Certified program, a vehicle must be 2004 model year or newer, with fewer than 75,000 miles. They're vehicles that met our tough standards when we first built them. Now they have to again, or they won't be certified.
GM Certified Used Vehicles are only available through select GM dealers, and all feature:
100,000-Mile/5-Year Powertrain Limited Warranty*
Now, when you purchase a 2004 through 2009 model year GM Certified Used Vehicle, it comes with a transferable 100,000-Mile/5-Year Powertrain Limited Warranty with no deductible. It's a whole new level of value, confidence and protection.
Transferable to subsequent owners
$0 deductible
*Whichever comes first from original in-service date. Some 2003 models will not be eligible based on their in-service date. See your dealer for limited warranty details.
12-Month/12,000-Mile* Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty
A 12-Month/12,000-Mile Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty protects you beginning the minute you leave the lot. This is a bumper-to-bumper coverage that extends any remaining factory warranty. It's not just protection for your car, but for your peace of mind.
*Whichever comes first. See dealer for limited warranty details. Effective 9/13/2008.
117-Point Inspection
All GM Certified Used Vehicles must undergo our rigorous 117-Point inspection process. Conducted by GM-trained technicians, each inspection is required to adhere to strict, factory-set standards to ensure that every vehicle's engine, chassis and body is in excellent condition.
Vehicle History Report
We offer a detailed vehicle history report for every vehicle we sell—so you don't have to worry about major problems like accidents, fires or hidden titles. CARFAX, the most trusted name in vehicle history reports, is the preferred supplier of GM Certified Used Vehicle history reports.
Like-New Vehicle Financing for Qualified Buyers Using GMAC
GM Certified Used Vehicles is proud to offer like-new vehicle financing on select vehicles for qualified buyers using GMAC Financing.
3-Day/150-Mile Guarantee
Take a few days and a few miles to get comfortable with your GM Certified Used Vehicle. If you're not sure, bring it back.
24-Hour Roadside Assistance*
We offer 24-hour roadside assistance and courtesy transportation for the life of your 100,000-Mile/5-Year Powertrain Limited Warranty (based on original in-service date). Around the clock and around the country, your GM Certified Used Vehicle comes with helping hands.
*For the length of the Powertrain Limited Warranty. Whichever comes first, from original in-service date. Some 2003 models will not be eligible based on their in-service date. See your dealer for limited warranty details.
The one I found for my friend had this also, pretty good deal!
