you got another $700 off and I think his "triple net" is more like 34k.. we bought one here last week for $32,900 with the Mspr of $47840.00 .. they told us that was $500 back of the "triple net".. give him a day or two chances are you will get a call with a better price....and your right they are not jumping off the lots so you have other dealers to work with....
Back to GM Maybe... Auction No Way.... market is $30 or so
Really doubt your dealer can return to GM and there is no way a wholesale auction will bring what the eBay pricing is if only because the guys going to the auction see eBay as part of the retail market....
Further, the dealer selling the SSr today is both reputable and knowledgable (and very close to the Lansing Craft Center) such that I would suggest he knows when to hit the bid and when to pass... he is selling at these prices because that is what it takes to move the iron...
The market is what it is and today that is hardly $30k for a well equiiped NEW SSr.
Here are the last seven SSRs to go through the Phoenix auction awhile back. These are 2004 models with about 30 miles on them,,,, MSO titles - new. 2005's I've seen go around 35K.
For a description of option codes, look below.

RPH-56 - Go get yourself an SSR!!! The time you are wasting trying to wring the last dime out of the dealer is time you could be enjoying your NEW SSR!!!
Don't get me wrong, several thousand is a lot of money, just don't let a hundred or two sour the whole new SSR experience. I sold my 2003 after just a couple of months so I could avoid the coming price slide, saved myself 6 or 7 thousand dollars.
My SSR: SSR 04 – PEDIGREE SSR Chrome Wheels w/ 1st Aux. Gauge Package released for Production. #9684

There won't be "serveral" thousand dollar mistakes at those prices... only mistake one can make now is waiting too long and not getting the options and color you want!

Members are saying they are buying SSR's on this forum for several thousand less than my triple net of $35,000 (sticker $48, 300). Look at the other entries on this thread. I am not in a hurry and if I get to the point where I have to have one, I can always go with a 05 in a couple of months....although the weather right now is perfect here in Florida for a convertible!
thanks for the advice
I understand that it may not be practical for some of you to come up to Michigan to buy your next vehicle. If you contact me I can give you a price on what I would sell you a vehicle for and you may be able to use that as leverage at your local dealer. Things are very different here, as there are 10 Chevy dealers within 15 miles of my dealership. Let it be clear that I am here to help however I can, whether you are considering buying a vehicle from me or not. If you give me the last 8 numbers of the vin I can give you a price on any new Chevy.
Thanks,
Mike Richmond

Note that these prices are over a month old (16 Dec 04). At this time the eBay price was north of $37k and the GM rebate to dealers of $7500 yet to be annouced (albeit, there was 0/72). The auction wholesale price has tended to be $3.5-5.0 below the eBay.
Pricing is very dynamic and it is imperative to get as much relevant information as possible if you are buying today

There is always someone who say they will sell a dollar or two cheaper , but that is not always your best deal.
Give your local dealer every opportunity to make your deal , your local dealer has the investment in your community of real estate , a local payroll , pays taxes locally , and best of all there is a team to give you after sales service.

here is a quote from Mike Richmond for a new 05: (see the classified ads)
I have one brand new 2005 Ricochet Silver SSr in stock. $1,000.00 Below invoice to a good home. This SSr stickers for $48,185.00. Invoice is $44,956.60. SSRFANATIC.COM members can buy it for $43,956.60, subtract $1,500.00 owner loyalty and you get $42,456.60 plus $40.00 Doc. fee and state fees.

The diff between the 05 car above and the 04 I was looking @ $36,000 is $6456.
The 04 had a couple more accessories but not thousands of dollars worth.
The diff in price is enough from me to consider an 04....but I 'd really like the stick and bigger engine. Looks like I wait and hope to get a better deal on the 05.
Would suggest that the pricing you are seeing for the 05 SSr is "competetive" but that the 04 quote is way above what the US market is trading at (i.e. 04's are going for less than $32k BEFORE the affinity discount)

The price listed on the '04 was not a price from me. I quoted him nearly $1200.00 less than that on the same SSr. That SSr stickered for $48,215.00 (most expensive '04 I've ever quoted). I quoted it at $500.00 over dealer net.
Thanks,
Mike
