How much is this GM Employee discount?

Per Chevrolet.com:

1SB MSRB = 45180 - EDP = 41157
1SA MSRB = 43180 - EDP = 39432

Other models have a higher 'spread' in the discount. A 28k Trailblazer has an EDP of 22k.

That's not too bad, then. I bought a 1SA for 40995, plus a bogus 295 VIN thing on my windows.

Of course, does that mean the lots will be giving 3000 off of the 39000?

You know, I keep comparing the very old style way Chevy sells things with the computer world I'm used to. I'm wondering if this is a step in the right or wrong direction.

Well, just for kicks I decided to look a SSR up on GMBuyPower.com to compare the regular sticker price to the "GMS" GM employee discount price. I'm a GM employee and have access to an employee website that will show the GMS price. The SSR I used for an example stickered for $49290 and the GMS price for the same vehicle is $44403.05.....Not that it matters but this is a Silver '05 at the Chevy Dealer in Minden LA. with the last 4 digits of the vin# being 7421. Doing a little math, the discount appears to be a hair under 10%. Wow.... I sure thought we used to get a better discount than that....of course the discounts vary on different vehicles. I've been with GM for 23 years now and can remember that we for sure got 20% off on the Corvettes and it seemed like about 15% on most other vehicles.....of course this might have been 15 years ago....my how time flies. One thing to note....this particular GM offer is only available at participating dealers, which I imagine is most of them at this point. Oh well....just my 2 cents worth.
