This is the verbiage on a listing for a 2005 SSR.
Bear in mind, this is on Peoria Ford's lot and written by a Ford dealer!

Come on down and take a look at this gorgeous 2005 Chevrolet SSR. J.D. Power named the 2005 SSR as the highest ranked in Overall Initial Quality Design in its class. When you say quality, Chevrolet comes immediately to mind, and this SSR is no exception.

True but 'quality' in that sentence would refer back to the specific in the preceding sentence of 'quality design'.

Trust me. The Ford guy is not so anal lytical as you to interpret the term quality so critically and I hardly think he was referring back to quality "design" or he would have placed the word design in a second time to emphasize that point. "Quality design" and "quality" are two different entities and in this case do not supplant each other.

I'm surprised no one has examined the word "Initial" and its assumed meaning. Does this mean "as the truck goes through the wash bay at the plant" and is loaded on a truck for delivery ? ? ?
