If your post is not spotted by the "men with the info", post here:
Build Sheet Requests

Are you having the truck delivered or are you picking it up....I think everyone will tell you "pick it up" for a couple of reasons.
1) no worry about transport company
2) you will enjoy driving it home
3) you will get to meet Fanatics in another part of the country

Are you buying from a dealer? That is the best way to do it.
Leave them a refundable deposit to lock it up and ask a fellow Fanatic to look at it for you before completing the deal.

Buying from a private party long distance makes me nervous.

Where are you located?
I just bought an SSR from a dealer in California and had it shipped.
I used Intercity Lines, Inc. and they were the best.

They also picked up and delivered a Prowler for one of my friends.
They delivered the pace truck that "gmkarguy" bought at the Barrett-Jackson Auction.

When I find the right one I'll be driving to get it. I really like the idea of having another FANATIC look at it before I make a 500 mi. journey. And thanks to GMkarguy for the carfax

I live about 65 mi. south of St.Louis, Mo. in a town called Potosi. I'm looking for an o5 or 06 in either Pacific blue or slingshot. I'm not in a big hurry to find one right now unless I can get a real bargain, otherwise April or May is when I'll really be in the hunt. Pacific is my preference but it seems they are really hard to find, especially since I want a stick. It seems there are a lot of Blurs out there with manuals but that color's just not me. I've always loved yellow so I think I'd be happy with that and I'm going to paint my 76 vette Pacific blue so I'll have both. Ps I'm not sure to the protocols on forums so bare with me? slfwilrr 0r even red if it's super deal

Basically only four things you can't do on the site:
1) When selling stuff, putting your phone or email in post without being a supporting member. (for non-supporting members everything has to be done with PMs [private messages])
2) Attacking other people. (no name calling or harrassing posts)
3) Posting naughty pictures.
4) Posts that deal with religion or politics.

I doubt you are going to find a deal on a Pacific Blue 6 speed.
If you are looking for one with the chrome package also then it will become more difficult.

524 Pacific Blues built for the US and 8 built for Canada = 532 units
20% were 6 speeds = 106 units
40% with chrome pkg = 42 units

These are not exact figures but based on the overall percentage of 2005 SSR's built.

If you are trying to find a deal (below $30K) then your best bet would be to look for a 2005 Slingshot Yellow with the 6 speed.
You would have to add the chrome if you want it and can find it.

Yeah that's what I'm learning. The chrome is not a must, not even on the wheels since my first personalization will be to put Crager SS's on it. I've got to say I'm very IMPRESSED with the HELPFULNESS of this FORUM. You guys and gals actually talk and know about your vehicles. The Vette club I belong to only want to socialize. The only time they talk about vettes is when a member gets a new one.

Where is this truck located in Georgia.
I am in the North Atlanta area, and could possibly take a look at it for you.

Sometime last year, I asked Joe DeLano if this was possible. He PM'd me the procedure, but I've since deleted it. It involved filling and re-drilling the hubs.

Anyone that is interested can contact Joe (2005SSR6Speed)

It's located in Macon. Looks like good possibility but I'll probably have to pass on this one this time. Got to many other things I can't get out of . But thanks anyway

As far as the Cragars, maybe I'm missing something. The SSR does have 5 lugs right? And in the new style they sell 20 x 10's and I'll have to go to 18's or 17's for the front? I'm a novice but if I'm missing something obvious let me know. I work in a prison so my skin's not real thin.
